DIRECTIONS: Boil 8 cups of water. Add one half bag of herbs to water. Reduced heat to low and allow to steep for 10 minutes. When steam is at a comfortable temperature, place water into a steam seat and attach seat to your toilet. Wrap a towel around your waist to keep heat and steam in desired area. Proceed to steam for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
WHEN TO STEAM:
For preventative care-- 1 week before the 1st day of your menses
For cyst, prolapse, fibroids, endometriosis -- 2 to 4 times a week
For painful menstruation or pelvic pain -- 2 to 3 times the week before menses
For fertility challenge --once per week and maybe twice during pre-ovulation
After a DNC or miscarriage-- Wait 3 weeks (be sure there is no infection prior to steaming
Post delivery-- Wait 6-8 weeks (be sure there is no bleeding or infection prior to steaming-- 3 to 4 times per week
NOTICE: It is recommended to steam 2 to 3 times per month, always during weeks in which you are not menstruating.
CAUTION: Do NOT use in pregnancy, during menses or if acute vaginal infection, or if you have hypertension, heart disorder or open vaginal sores or an IUD. Always follow up with your Ob/Gyn or PCP for vaginal infections. Discontinue use if negative reaction occurs. Be careful to not scold or burn your skin with very hot water, be sure the temperature is comfortable before steaming. Do not take orally. One time use only.
